‍Supportto Breadbox Need and MFC Wagenschot

‍Wedecided again this year to use our greeting card budget to support initiatives that could use all the support they can get.

This year we are giving a Christmas check to not one, but two initiatives. This is our way of doing our part in these special times, because we cannot forget that many people in our community are having a very difficult time today.

‍Breadbox Needed

‍A recent study by KULeuven and HoGent showed that 1 in 5 children (in the study) comes to school without breakfast. Offering free or cheap healthy food at school is a weapon in the fight against child poverty and for more educational quality. Enchanté VZW has been working on this issue since 2021 and, with the support of Value Square, will be able to fill more than 400 lunch boxes in 2024.

‍Noteveryone is lucky enough to grow up without worries. Unsafe home situations, stress at school, no right to free time and the influence of social media often make children and young people vulnerable. Everyone deserves a warm childhood and every opportunity to develop. With Value Square's support, MFC Wagenschot can purchase necessary items that young people need (Think daily hygiene, clothing, shoes, school supplies, dental care...).

About Breadboxnodig (Enchanté VZW)

‍Asociety only really works when people are more closely connected. Out of this rock-solid conviction and their deepest commitment, in 2017, a few citizens started the initiative to let Gentenaars with and without vulnerable backgrounds take care of each other. Enchanté! Pleased to make your acquaintance! How do they go about it? Treating one to someone with a little less. It can be that simple. The network of Hartelijke Plekken expanded to other Flemish cities and in 2021 they also took up the fight against hunger in schools with the initiative Brooddoosnodig.

About MFC Wagenschot‍

Multi Functional Center Wagenschot wants to be a quality partner in the care and education of children, adolescents and young adults and their context. They focus on young people with behavioral and emotional problems and/or autism spectrum disorders. They want to

• Creating opportunities with young people and their social environment
• provide opportunities for self-development, opportunities for positive integration into society and quality of life
• doing so with a view to the future
• Being a safe haven for young people
